2010... may it be a great year!

Really, is this necessary?
What is this thing?

On a walk with Mom, Dad and Glamma.

Can you say a mini Shane!?

Quinn still loves her thumb!

2010 is here and we are ready for all the new adventures the new year will bring us. Q&C are now 14 1/2 months (say, what?) and they are still changing, growing, learning and more each and everyday, sometimes hour. Quinn girl has mastered the walk and loves to run now, is a complete book worm, practicing her monkey and bear sounds, climbing on everything and testing Mom and Dad with how to teach her that hitting her brother, Ellie and everything else is just not okay. Carter has been dubbed the "Bruiser" (courtesy of Aunt Nancy) and lives up to his new nickname everyday. He loves to snuggle, is still into Ellie, loves to pick up his toys say "dada" and then proceed to throw it across the room. He has quite the little temper and tends to be a bit more dramatic then his sister. They are still on their routine of 2 naps a day, eating great! down to one bottle a day and love to end the day by playing "I'm going to get you"! Shane and I can't wait for Spring and Summer when we can play outside in our backyard and let them explore more of their environment. 2009 was quite the year and I'm sure that 2010 will be just as interesting...

Christmas breakfast... yummy! Waffle, refried beans mixed with olive oil (yes, I said refried beans), maple syrup, parsley, hot coppa, muenster cheese and a fried egg

It came and it went, like it always does... we started out with the four of us, then Aunt Nannie came over for some breakfast and Christmas cheer, then we headed over to Mom and Dad's (Grandma and Grandpa) house to celebrate with family. The twinnies had fun and were very good; Quinn got two baby dolls and Carter got a remote control Jet... thank you Grandma and Grandpa! Jace LOVED his Bat Man gifts and everyone had a wonderful time. Until next year... Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve 2009

For the past few years now, we have been going to Gary and Carol Jarr's house to visit with them, Bry and Amber and all their friends that stop by. This year was particularly special to us as it is the first Christmas Eve without lovable Gary. We had a wonderful time, ate good food, had yummy drinks and enjoyed seeing Carol in her beautifully decorated festive home where there is still so much love, laughter and stories to share. The twinnies had a great time as well and loved opening there gift from Bry and Amber as well as getting into all of Christmas decorations (Carol thanks for pulling out the snow globes!). Here's to you Gary... we miss you dearly.

Carter and Ellie girl

Carter just adores Ellie... he follows her around the house, "pets" her and gives her plenty of kisses.

New Traditions

With the twinnies starting to comprehend the holiday season (to an extent), we are starting new traditions. Friday we got our small tree that is behind the "fence" so the twinnies may enjoy, but not touch, eat or break. :) We also started a tradition with Glamma and Grandpa Gannon of visiting Santa in downtown Seattle. We look forward to building more and more memories with the coming seasons and holidays.

Did you say ONE!?

Dad opening gifts up for Q&C

Grandpa G and Grandpa S

Carter got right down to business... Quinn wasn't quite sure...

W-O-W! That pretty much sums it up... Q&C turned one last week and we celebrated their big one with family and friends. It was an amazing shin-dig and the twinnies were troppers and kicked it with all of us adults staring and singing at them while all of our cameras were going off. I can't even describe how insane, incredible, emotional, proud and well, unbelievable it is that we all (that means everyone) made it through the first year. I love seeing my little ones grow and change everyday, from eating REAL food, to taking their first step to starting to discover this big world we live in and to just become their own little person. We love Q&C!

To a GREAT first season... GO SOUNDERS!

Me and the "bugs"

Well, the first official MLS season has come to an end for our Seattle Sounders and I must say that it is wonderful to have been a part of it. We gathered at the Bakker's for the play-off game against Houston and all had a good time, except for the losing part. Here's to the 2010 season...
