4th of July

Happy 4th of July! The twinnies did great with all the action... we went to Bryan and Amber's house for the day and enjoyed some time with good friends. We brought a pack'n'play for the kids to sleep in and to hang out in when they weren't sleeping as Carter is officially on the move now, although they ended up hanging out on a blanket with all their toys the whole time. They were able to hang out with their buddy Alice and see alot of their Aunites and Uncles. We also walked down to a block party, which seemed more like a fraternity party (mechanical bull, slip'n slide, tug of war and madness). The main reason we went down to the block party was to visit Uncle Bry, as he was working hard at the Tako Truk... they had an awesome set-up and kept busy. We then headed home and got the kids to bed (fireworks never woke them up during the night... love it!). Here are some pictures of them sporting their 4th of July tie-dyed onsies, made for them by their sweet Nanny Rachel.

Wow, how they grow FAST!

Q&C are almost 8 months now and they are really growing up fast. Quinn has her third tooth coming in and prefers to use the roll method to move around and is super chatty! Mr. Carter is now crawling on all fours, yes I said crawling, starting to pull himself up to stand (some one needs to babyproof this joint!) and super chatty too. They both say "dadadada" and are very intersted in Ellie Girl, who is amazing with the kids. As well as starting to have more solids and being introduced to the "free for all" eating approach in their highchairs (they weren't that in to it, so we will try again in a few weeks). Everyday Shane and I come home from work, they amaze us and fill us with so much love and laughter and it is funny to hear the daily stories from Nanny Rachel, Grandma Seguin and Glamma.

Pot Holes

For Memorial Day weekend we headed over to Shane's parent's place at Pot Holes, WA. We had a nice relaxing time in the sun with family and friends, but we were all eaten ALIVE by the mosquitos, hence Q&C hanging in their new pad (the tent) that Glamma Gannon bought them.

First FC Sounders Game

As you all know, Shane and I are big soccer fans and are now FC Sounder season ticket holders, along with the Bakkers. Last Sunday was a home game and Q&C came along for their first game. It was an intense game and the kiddos were really good; Shane had Quinn and I had Carter (most of the time... his Auntie Helen had him for a bit too - see pictures). We brought them in their Ergos, which worked great as Quinn snuggled with her Daddy and Carter with me (although Carter was out of the Ergo for the majority of the time as he wanted to MOVE), they even fell asleep amongst all the craziness around us and had no meltdowns. We were a little worried about the noise and their ears, but made sure that we covered them when it got really loud. We look forward to many more soccer games...

SUNSHINE!

Back in Action

Things are bit insane at the Gannon casa these days, as I (Kathy) am back in action at work. Bye-bye to the days of staying in my pajamas all day long, going for leisure walks with the kids and Ellie Bellie, talking to my friends any time of the day (mainly Helen) :), hanging out with BJ and grabbing coffee and not having to worry about deadlines, meetings, etc. Maternity leave is now a thing in the distant past. To sum it up... I was supposed to go back to work on April 7th (to the firm I had been at for just over 5 years), but was notified that I was laid-off in late March due to the lack of work (damn economy). Well being that Shane and I both contribute to our finances I had to get in gear and find a new job. I contacted all my contacts in th A&D industry that I know, updated my portfolio and resume and looked for jobs everyday. One of my wonderful friends and contacts tipped me to an opening at a firm in downtown Seattle, so I contacted them... got a call back, went through the interview process and well, I got the job - YIPPEE!!! Needless to say, Shane and I are very, very grateful for the lead, the opportunity and are excited for this next phase in our life as well as my professional career. Now that I am back into the swing of things, we are working out the early mornings, getting the kids ready, making lunches, running around, getting the kids to Glamma and Grandpa's house or waiting for the arrival of Grandma 'Lainy or Rachel, the twinnes new Nanny one day a week, trying to catch the bus on time... The week days are making for very long days and we don't get to spend that much time with the kids as there bedtime is 7:00 pm. However, I am loving working downtown, enjoying my new office and people (so far) ;) and welcome the change. So the posts may be slow, but they will keep coming... Here are some recent pictures of the twinnes with their Grandparents during the week.... By the way Grandparents, Shane and I are very lucky to have such supportive family. We love you... Grandparents are COOL!
